Description
"These will change civilisation as we know it." - Richard Turner, Executive Chef at The Hawksmoor With a seal of approval from many of the UK's most famous chefs, you've just stumbled across the perfect snack to accompany a refreshing pint of pilsner. Hungary arguably produces the finest salami on the planet, and their most prized breed of pig for crafting such sausages is the Mangalica (or Mangalitza). Resembling a cross between a sheep and a wild boar, these porkers have been described by The Telegraph as "the next pig thing". To create these smoky Mangalitza Salami Chips, authentic Hungarian-style sausage is delicately roasted until crisp, intensifying the flavours to mind-blowing proportions. Bursting with paprika, caraway and garlic these would satisfy the mightiest of Magyars. Taking one for the team, we've tested them with a range of other beverages, and can confirm that pale ale, IPA, lager, Sherry, crisp white wine and earthy Pinot Noir all work too. We'll continue to experiment because we're constantly caring about you - nothing at all to do with the fact that these are so irresistible. Bored by the usual nuts and crisps on offer in his local, Dan set up Made for Drink in Berkshire to create some next level snackage. All he wanted was to create snacks so intensely delicious that they'd be stocked in his all-time favourite watering hole: Heston Blumenthal's The Crown. Within a few months his mission was accomplished; not only that, but they were also picked up by The Hind's Head at Bray and Rick Stein's The Cornish Arms in Padstow. That's some fancy pub pedigree right there. Now, thanks to Harvey Nichols, you can enjoy them in the comfort of your own home.
