Description
These can be used in salads or even added to cooling drinks. The leaves have a light cucumber flavour that can be added into many recipes. An alternative to mint. Use young leaves often as they can become slightly bitter once they mature.Direct sow Salad Burnet seed outdoors from March to May. Grow Salad Burnet in a well prepared, moist, seedbed in full sun or partial shade. Sow seeds thinly at a depth of 1cm (½in) in drills 30cm apart. When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 23cm (9in) apart. Fortnightly sowings will ensure an ongoing supply of young Burnet leaves for adding to salads.Water Salad Burnet during dry periods to ensure that the soil remains moist. Burnet leaves can be harvested 6-8 weeks after sowing, by selecting a few leaves from each plant. Salad Burnet is best harvested regularly and while the leaves are small, as older, larger leaves become increasingly bitter. Please note: This product cannot be delivered outside the United Kingdom.Product specifications:Sowing months: March to MayFlowering months: June to AugustHarvesting months: May to AugustPosition in: Full SunHeight: Up to 60cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 40cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1 Packet of seedsImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
