Description
The Verbena ‘Deep Blue’ is a gorgeous variety, boasting deep blue flowers with lobed foliage. This variety is easy to grow, vigorous and grows quickly – and flowers nonstop from June to September! It has a trailing habit, making it ideal for hanging baskets and your patio. These amazing flowers will look great when combined with other brightly coloured plants. Pot up Verbena plants and grow them on in frost free conditions, for transplanting into borders later on. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant outdoors in a sheltered position in any moist, well drained soil in full sun. Feed and water plants regularly until they are fully established. Verbena flowers do not re-quire dead heading. In autumn, apply a dry mulch of bark chips or straw to protect the crown of the plant throughout the winter months. Cut back the old stems when new shoots emerge at the base of the plant in spring.
