Enjoy a colour-changing display with this easy-to-grow and incredibly long flowering Salvia ‘Amethyst Lips’. Bursting into a profusion of blooms in early summer, which start predominantly a rich deep purple colour. As the season progresses they become white and purple bicolour, before finally changing to completely white towards the end of the summer. Low maintenance, drought tolerant and easy to grow, this is a great choice for any style of garden in borders or pots, where it will provide a rewarding season-long display every year.Pot up salvia plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant salvias outdoors in moist, well drained soil, and situated in a sheltered spot in full sun.Feed and water regularly until fully established. Although perennial, this Salvia will require some winter protection in all but the mildest areas of the UK. If growing it in containers, it can be moved to a cold greenhouse or conservatory over the winter months.
