Description
Nemophila 'Pennie Black' is a monochrome marvel! Sumptuous, rich deep purple to black flowers with a scalloped silvery-white edges are produced in profusion from June to August. These pretty plants boast 2cm blooms and have a ground hugging habit, similar to annual Alyssum. Try them as ground cover, at border edges or in patio pots and hanging baskets, where their black and white blooms will act as a beautiful backdrop to plants with brightly coloured blooms. Trailing 5-10cm (2-4in).Sow early spring outdoors where they are to flower. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Sow 1.5mm (1/16in) deep in rows 15cm (6in) apart. Germination usually takes approximately 21 days. An autumn sowing outdoors will provide earlier flowers and in a cold frame will produce spring flowering pot plants in the cold greenhouse. When large enough to handle thin out to 15cm (6in) apart. They prefer a site with part shade or a sunny position that does not dry out.Product specifications:Position: Sun or Semi ShadeHeight: Up to 15cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 35cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1x Nemophila menziesii 'Pennie Black' seed packet (approx. 250 seeds)Flowering period – June to AugustImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
