Description
Create clouds of pretty little scented white blooms as the perfect backdrop! Gypsophila paniculata (Baby's Breath) is very popular for filling gaps in borders and is famous for its masses of delicate, daisy like flowers, which provide a pretty, almost misty, background for the other flowers in your garden. The delicate blooms are borne on strong stems and are useful for flower arrangements and can be dried as everlasting flowers. Enjoy the blooms from June to August. Culinary note: Baby's Breath (Gypsophila sp.) flowers have a mild, slightly sweet flavour, perfect for dessert garnishes.Sow on the surface of the compost in spring in John Innes Seed Compost. Make sure that the compost is moist but not wet and seal in a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days at 21C (70F). Do not exclude light which is beneficial to germination. Transplant when large enough to handle into 8cm (3in) pots and grow on in cooler conditions at 10C (50F). Later plant out in a sheltered spot and grow on until autumn when they should be planted out 60cm (24in) apart in well-drained soil in a sunny spot.Product specifications:Position: Full SunHeight: Up to 120cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 75cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1x packet Gypsophila paniculata (approx. 600 seeds)Flowering period: June to AugustImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
