Description
Thompson & Morgan Cornus Sericea ‘White Gold’ is truly a shrub for all seasons. With clusters of white flowers appearing in late spring, succeeded by white fruits in late summer, against a backdrop of variegate leaves with creamy white edges, this hardy deciduous shrub makes a superb specimen for a winter garden or mixed borders. This eye-catching Dogwood becomes a blaze of gold in autumn before winter snatches its foliage, leaving bright yellow stems to brighten those dark winter days. Plant Thompson & Morgan Dogwood into garden borders in any moist, well-drained garden soil in full sun. Cornus Sericea will even tolerate wet soils. Feed and water regularly until fully established. Once established, Cornus will require less attention. In early spring, regularly pollard Dogwood to encourage plenty of colourful stems. Cut back all Dogwood stems to 3 buds above soil level or to a permanent low framework. After pruning, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or other organic matter around the base of the plant. Caution: Dogwood berries are harmful if eaten, and irritant to skin and eyes.
