These might just be the ultimate after-dinner chocolate. Creamy milk chocolate and peppermint centres are encased in 55% cocoa dark chocolate and dusted with icing sugar. However rich, spicy or flavourful the meal, the icy blast of single-estate peppermint oil instantly refreshes the palate. For almost three decades they've been slowly and sustainably growing, harvesting and distilling their vibrant Black Mitcham peppermint to create award-winning chocolates, teas, candles, diffusers and more. Black Mitcham peppermint is highly aromatic with a piercing flavour that blows through you like an arctic wind, but it's notoriously difficult to grow. Although it used to be native to England, this tricky herb had largely disappeared, but Summerdown have managed to cultivate over 100 acres from cuttings found in America. This eco-friendly business is not only B Corp certified, which means that they're part of a global movement of companies that put people and the planet before profit, but they also work with wildlife conservation charity Plantlife and are a Countryside Stewardship farm, making them a peppermint playground for pollinators and all kinds of other creatures.
