Description
The Salomon QST Blank is about skiing without limits. The design has been led by Salomon's freeride athletes who were given a ‘blank slate’ to come up with their perfect ski. With a 112mmm waist, plenty of rocker and solid C/FX construction it's obvious that blasting down open powder fields or skipping through pillow lines they will have exactly the type of feel, handling and stability you'd want under your feet. However, not everyday is a champagne powder day and these make sure that if you're on firm snow you can still carve up the groomers, with plenty of edge hold and a relatively nimble feel to them they can put a smile on your face when on-piste too.Terrain Type & Ability LevelTerrain Type It will go anywhere, do most things and even put a smile on your face when skiing firm snow, but where it really shines in deeper snow conditions where it's shaping and dimensions really come into their own.Skier TypeAdvanced skiers who want a soft snow focused ski, but also need it to be able to cope with all sorts of conditions and snow types too. Great adge hold for icy traverses or carving on hardpack, light and nible for tighter spots or through trees and tons of float. The skier buying these will be pushing their limits and need a ski to cope with all that is thrown it's way.OverviewShapeIt is 112mm under foot with plenty of rocker both tip and tail tells you this ski is going to be good in soft snow. Having set back contact points and a bit of camber at the waist means it playful and manoeuvrable on firm snow too.RockerTip and Tail Rocker uses camber underfoot for grip and response; the rocker aids turn initiation and release.CoreThe Poplar Woodcore offers stability, liveliness and forgiveness while ensuring good ski-to-snow contact.ConstructionSidewall construction ensures excellent grip and precise control.Key FeaturesC/FXCarbon and Flax woven together. It combines the strength, stability, minimal weight of carbon with the increased level of dampening of the flax.Cork DamplifierCork is three times more absorbing than Koroyd. Using it in the tip of the ski enables a high level of vibration absorption and dampening with even less weight.eB tester’s comments: Zak (Manchester) Perfectly suited for charging, big mountain skiers who don’t want terrain to dictate the performance of the skis. Loved it, solid at speed but still capable of being controlled when moving slower and didn’t feel overly limited by its width.Size (cm)Tip Width (mm)Waist Width (mm)Tail Width (mm)Radius (m)Weight (g)178137112126152040186138112127172220194139112128182400General InformationSkier Ability: Advanced|expertRocker: Tip/Tail RockerRadius: MediumBindings: Ski sold flatDIN: n/aConstruction: Full SidewallCore: Wood, CarbonDemo: NoSizing Description: Forehead to over head height. The increased length ensures better grip, stability and floatation and is essential to making the ski work to its full potential. Large rockers at the tip mean it is important not to size down.
