The AS-1 has excellent wet grip and drainage due to 2 straight broad grooves on the outside of the tyre and 1 middle groove which accumulates the water and then diverts excess water to the edge via smaller sipes. By using a ridgid pattern on the shoulder of the tyre cornering force is increased and improves steering as well as reducing uneven tread wear.
