Description
The Chronic is a benchmark all mountain freestyle ski with the build, shape and performance that other brands try to match. This award-winning ski delivers a poppy ride that crushes big-line jump laps as well as smooth high-speed burns all over the mountain. If you want one ski to do everything well, from park to powder and all the terrain in between then the Chronic is the ski.Terrain Type & Ability LevelTerrain Type The Chronic is a proper all mountain option, more so than many other freestyle skis, and without any loss of performance in the park. It will pop, slide and jump as well as any of the 95mm all mountain freestyle skis, and then leave them in its spray when it's time to charge other terrain whether bumps, trees, natural hits or untouched stashes.Skier TypeSkiers who want to spend as much time on natural terrain and all mountain as they do in the park, all done on a ski with durability built-in.OverviewShape95mm underfoot is ideal for a mix of park and all mountain, wide enough to be stable and provide float when the snow is soft or rougher, narrow enough to still feel quick. The 16m (178cm) radius ensures fast turns and good performance on hard snow. A 5Cut Sidecut uses 5 different radii blended together to create a variety of turn shapes and an intuitive feel. early Taper moves the widest point of the sidecut so it begins tapering earlier in the tip and tail to reduce hook ups in soft snow.Rockerearly Rise at the tip and tail lift them away from the snow to bring the contact points closer to the centre of the ski. This increases the ski's lift in deep snow and allows it to engage more quickly on hardpack when rolled over on edge.CoreThe core uses Line's legendary Maple Macroblock with 2 full length maple stringers surrounded by aspen for increased strength and durability.ConstructionFreestyle skis need to be tough and a cap construction is the best option to resist edge dings and damage, but sidewalls offer more precision. The solution on the Chronic is Capwall, with sidewall underfoot where you want the precision and a cap in the tip and tail to provide the durability and weight saving. Thin Tips help keep the weight down by using a thin core and sidewall in the tip and tail, saving 100grams a pair for reduced swing weight. The textured tougher top sheet materials resist scratches and abuse for longer, protecting the look and life of the ski. Not just great skis, but tough ones too.Key FeaturesFatty Base and edge30% thicker base and edge, 2.2mm wide x 2.5mm high steel edges and 1.7mm thick base dramatically increase durability and tuning life of the skis.Symmetric FlexThe same flex pattern in front and behind your boot conforms to terrain equally riding forward and backwards.eB tester’s comments: Mark (Trainer) These put a big smile on your face. They encourage you to stop taking it all so seriously and actually open your eyes and see what your next move will be: a pop off of a lip, a slash over a roller, a run through the park or a play just off to the side?Size (cm)Tip Width (mm)Waist Width (mm)Tail Width (mm)Radius (m)Weight (g)1641299512013.1711299512014.5.1781299512016.1851299512017.4.General InformationSkier Ability: Intermediate|Advanced|expertRocker: Tip/Tail RockerRadius: ShortBindings: Ski sold flatDIN: n/aConstruction: Semi SidewallCore: WoodDemo: Yes
