Each piece is carefully selected by the Gooch Oriental team to ensure its authenticity, quality and finish. Each one is knotted by hand, an intricate process using traditional hand knotting techniques. As such, no two pieces are the same, meaning you can add an authentic and unique piece of crafted design into your home, whilst supporting this heritage industry. This collection of Berber style rugs are woven in the village of Kaloke, a village in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. Most of the people in this village are involved in weaving these berber style rugs. Each peice is hand knotted using a cotton warp as the base of the rug with the wool pile then knotted securely onto this. On the light with dark detailed design's only natural un-dyed wool has been used. This provides depth, contrast and individuality into each peice. The multi colour options will have been dyed using modern/chemical dyes as standard to achieve desired results.
