Museum Selection Frosted Kingfisher Cards
Description
With iridescent glitter details, a reproduction of a fine ‘kachoe’ (‘birds and flowers’) woodblock from 1935 by Ohara Koson (18771945); part of the ‘new prints’ (‘shinhanga’) movement, Japanese artists sought to revitalise traditional subject matter in Japanese printmaking with a new, sensitive use of naturalistic light and soft colour that recalled the influence of the Impressionists. Printed ‘Season’s Greetings’. 5½” square. Produced exclusively for Museum Selection.
