Serax Bowl Pink Ceramic. Dimensions: Ø 16 x H 7.5 cm. Cheerful and colourful, Feast is the first tableware collection designed by the famous Anglo-Israeli chef Yotam Ottolenghi, in collaboration with Belgian manufacturer Serax. Owner of six restaurants in London, Ottolenghi is a real pop star in the kitchen! A champion of plant-based cuisine, author and charismatic world star, he inspires gourmets around the world with his delicious best-sellers and accessible recipes with their multiple influences. For this project, the chef teamed up with Italian artist Ivo Bisignano, his lifelong creative partner. A polymorphic artist, Ivo Bisignano began his career with fashion illustration before focusing on media as varied as sculpture, painting, video and animation. “We have been working with Ivo for a few years. Whether it's a napkin, a logo for a menu or wrapping for a Christmas present, he always finds original ideas, full of humour and humanity. Whatever the medium, his art is authentic, expressive, daring, joyful and colourful. Qualities we strive for in our cuisine”, explains Yotam Ottolenghi. Yotam Ottolenghi created Feast as an invitation to share precious moments over a convivial meal with family and friends. The variegated pieces mean you can create festive tables that are a bit eccentric: a great way to discover the relaxed, slightly offbeat atmosphere that characterises Yotam Ottolenghi's cuisine so well. “We tried to tell the Ottolenghi story through objects. A story of tension between down-to-earth and sophisticated, passion and refinement, tradition and novelty. Obvious opposites that coexist in dynamic harmony.” With its abundance of colour, abstract plant prints, swirling patterns and positive vibes, Feast reflects everything its creator embodies. Intense and exuberant, radiant and sunny, the Fest collection is an explosion of colours echoing the chef's recipes, those Mediterranean colours which are an integral part of his personal history. Designed around the letter O, one of Yotam Ottolenghi's obsessions, the collection also draws on the ubiquitous place given to vegetables of all kinds, another central element in the chef's cuisine. “Working with Ivo, we knew from the start that the collection would be an explosion of colours echoing the preparations we serve up, always layered and contrasted. There isn’t just one type of Ottolenghi recipe or preparation, just as there isn’t just one type of plate in Ivo's collection”, adds Yotam Ottolenghi. Yotam Ottolenghi on his collaboration with Serax: “With Ottolenghi, it was clear to all of us that for our first official collection of plates, we needed something unusual, contemporary and aesthetic. But also totally usable to serve up our preparations. Serax was an absolutely incredible partner, giving our creativity free rein, certain that we’d be able to translate Ottolenghi’s philosophy into beautiful objects. They supported and encouraged us throughout the process. It was a most enjoyable collaboration, a dream come true.”
