Georget was a French artist & commercial designer who became synonymous with leading brands & companies - Philips, BP, Nationale Loterie & the French Railway. He is probably best known for his travel posters. Georget was commissioned in the early 1960s by Air France to design a series of travel posters including this fabulous one promoting travel to Great Britain. This is an original lithograph vintage poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is professional acid-free conservation mounted, linen backed, & in very good condition. Close inspection will reveal that the poster has been folded prior to restoration & there are minor scuff marks. This poster was not surplus stock - it was in use probably in a French travel agency during the 1960s. This poster has been thoroughly cleaned, restored & linen backed by certified conservators at Studio M in Melbourne.
