The extraordinary hand carved elements include a vintage half-link chain that originates from Kerala which has been incorporated into the piece & provides both a stunning & eye-catching look. This item of furniture is a very special piece & one that we had never come across or seen the like of before & couldn't resist in bringing it back to the U.K. for others to cherish. The carcass of the piece has been made using mango wood & there have been four shelves fitted providing plenty of storage/display areas. The hand carved elements continue throughout the surround of the bookcase. Ornate scroll & decoration work flows around the whole piece, while 'pillar-like' bases have also been incorporated; further enhancing it's charm & character. This staggering item of furniture exudes craftsmanship, history, culture & place & is a complete one-off, unique item that would bring a small part of India into the home.
