A very rare antique glazed bookcase by ESAVIAN. ESAVIAN (earlier/ also known as ESA - Education Supply Association) produced much of the furniture that was found in schools in England from the early 1920's to 1970's. James Leonard join ESA in 1946 as their chief designer & went on to produce much of the highly sought after mi Century old school furniture (chairs, tables bookcases, etc). This early bookcase pre dates James Leonard joining. We estimate it dates to around the 1920's to early 1930's. It is completely original throughout, with all original glass & brass drop handles. Hand made form oak it breaks down in to many sections for ease of transportation & siting in the space of your choice. We think it is a beautiful antique with classic clean lines & a pretty rare find. We have never seen an ESAVIAN piece from this early in the 20th Century.
