George Vernon Stokes 1930s authentic signed dog bookplate/print. Difficult to source. He was a painter in oil, watercolour & pastel of animal subjects & landscapes; etcher & illustrator. Contributed illustrations to magazines & books on dogs & natural history. Exhibited at the RA from 1907, RBA & provincial galleries. Lived near Carlisle for some years & later near Deal in Kent. His ability to capture each breed of dog is quite remarkable & these wonderful drawings give a focal point to any room. Wonderful gifts for any occasion & perfect to start or add to a collection.
