(Any queries from the EU, please don't hesitate to get in touch) Here is a bit of a treat for vintage beaded necklace collectors - this is a beautiful triple-strand beaded necklace with round pure white glass beads. They are graduated to a bigger size in the front, & are very cold to the touch. They also have no seams around the middle, & have that clacking sound when dropped onto a glass desk, so they are definitely glass rather than plastic. This necklace measures 50cms (19 3/4") along the shortest strand, & the clasp is a shiny chrome-like rhodium-plated slide-clasp, with a hook that slides in around the front & then pushes home. The front of the clasp is studded with no less than 16 clear diamanté stones - very sparkly, & a pretty feature at the back of your neck !! All the very best 1950s necklaces had interesting clasps, some of which were such a feature that they were designed to be worn at one side of the front. This one sits at the back however, & seems to be very secure. This is a good thing because you don't want the clasp to slide undone whilst wearing, & many of these necklaces have clasps that have been bent out slightly, over the years of use, & have become loose as a result. Condition is really quite excellent considering it's over sixty years old. I think this has probably been restrung professionally at some point as it is really in nice condition with what looks like newish crimps at the clasp end, & I don't think they used crimps like that back in the 1950s. This pretty necklace would enhance any vintage 1950s/60s floral dress or summery evening dress, or any modern outfit too, actually !!
