Description
Designed to serve salads in, this 11 (28 cm) diameter by 5 (12 cm) high bowl features a natural edge that shows a few beetle larvae tracks where they once lived under the bark. Both the bark & the larvae are long gone, but I like the design they left. The Weeping Birch tree that this came from was removed from a yard in north central Calgary. Thanks to the tree surgeon, I got the trunk which I then rough turned into bowls. Once this one was dry, I then remounted it on the lathe to bring it to final shape & smoothness. It was then finished it with a food safe salad bowl finish & can be hand washed as needed. Don't need a salad bowl? It will hold & display your fruit very well too! Natural Edged Birch Salad Bowl
