A rare & very collectible hand-painted coffee can (cup) & saucer made by Derby Porcelain Co., England in the late 18th century. At some time in its life the original handle has been replaced with another which is a process carried out only by skilled craftsmen, similar to items with staple repairs. The reason for such restoration is to give the tableware longevity or for the sake of sentimentality as it may have been a prized, expensive or much loved possession.
