Imari teacup, Shreve, Crump & Low, Boston. Early-mid 1900's. Hand decorated with robust gold outlines, borders & details. Beautiful cobalt blue, dark coral, & bright yellow floral patterns. 4 ounce cup is 3 3/4 wide, 1 3/4 height Saucer is 5 1/2 wide, angled sides, no curves on the cup or saucer. Good condition, no damage or crazing. No other mark of maker. Imported by Shreve Crump & Low in Boston. Established in 1796 by watchmaker & silversmith John McFarlane, the company is one of the oldest jewelry stores in North America. The present-day Shreve, Crump & Low is the last of a line of firms that began with John McFarlane, who opened a workshop across the street from Paul Revere.
