Organic-elegant vase object, a genuine conversation piece. Evocative of the organic poly-necked pieces by Gilbert Metenier. Potentially a naturalistic, coral-oriented reading is possible. Gerhard Liebenthron was born in 1925 in Neustrelitz, Mecklenburg. From 1948 to 1951 he studied at the Norddeutsche Konsthochschule in Bremen, where he set up his own atlier in 1952. Beginning in 1955, he took part in many national as well as international exhibitions. He died in Bremen in 2005. His oeuvre oftentimes shows expressive decors as well as carved decors & organic forms.
