RARE! Antique Middle Eastern Hand Crafted Gold Plated Repousse Bowl & Tray. This Ghalam Zani lovely ceremonial bowl & tray are in great shape, slightest vintage wear on gold plate, no dents, heavy! The bowl is 7 3/4 inches in diameter, 2 3/4 inches tall & about 2 3/4 inches deep. The tray is 13 3/4 inches in diameter. Hand crafted in the Middle East, 1930's. The process - Ghalam Zani is the art of engraving & embossing elaborate designs, patterns & shapes on metals such as copper, silver, gold, & brass. It is widely used to make decorative trays, plates, vases, pitchers, etc. This magnificent art has a long history dating back to more than several thousand years ago.
