Retro wall decor. A handmade vintage wall hanging with an image of a beautiful owl. There is so much detail in the bird's feathers & he fixes his eyes on you, wherever you are ! The owl has been printed in black on the golden toned wood & the mix is sublime. Very graphic, so clear. Made, I would guess in the 1970s, this is a screen printed image on wooden panel, taken from an original by Maurice Bishop, Somerset, England. The piece is 15 tall x 8 1/4 wide & 5/8 deep. Hanging wire is attached, so it is ready to hang immediately ! in very good vintage condition. There are some minor surface scratches, I have given the wood a nourishing coat of wax & this has minimised the appearance of them & given it a pleasing sheen. I think, when hanging, they would not be seen. The fourth photo above shows one side of the panel which I am told has a 'live edge' this is not damage but rather a natural part of the anatomy of the piece of wood used here. The artist has not only produced a wonderful , wildlife image but he has done so on a stunning piece of wood. A gorgeous piece of retro decor, quite mid century in style, equally suitable for traditional or contemporary interiors & really great for those who love owls ! Weight unwrapped 730g.
