Stunning large octagonal footed & gilded bowl made in Japan for St.Michael ( Marks & Spencer ). This beautiful Imari style bowl makes a great centrepiece for your table & the perfect fruit bowl. Also lovely as kitchen or dresser decor. It displays beautifully & could be used as a purely decorative bowl. Inside the bowl are blue dragons with oriental style patterns & floral motifs on a white ground, while outside the designs are much more colourful in blue, green & salmon. There are more dragons & lots of gilding which adds to the rich feel of the bowl. Original 'St Michael' label stuck on the base. Excellent condition, it does not look as if it has been used. It measures 8 1/2 in diameter, standing 3 1/2 tall. A sturdy bowl which is quite heavy, weighing 934g unwrapped.
