This huge decaying asylum lies in the outskirts of a large Italian city. Disused for decades, its only occupants now are pigeons. But the architecture remains stunning. We drove for several hours to get to the city & park nearby. We approached the building cautiously as it lies beside a busy street. Getting in required climbing up & over slippery marble walls, but once inside we knew it was worth the effort. Walking along its maze of corridors & hearing the silence inside is an incredible experience. This image is taken at the junction of 3 corridors on the 4th floor.
