Description
Petite Friture Coffee cup Purple Ceramic. Dimensions: Ø 8 x H 9 cm - Length (with handle): L 17 cm. The Donut collection is inspired by - you guessed it - sweet treats. The designer behind it, Pia Chevalier, is tantalising all our senses with this range of cups and mugs. The oversized handle evokes the shape of a doughnut and the enamel reflects that classic, delicious glaze. The shape, thickness and texture of the material vary across the production of this collection. They're named after doughnut flavours: Citron [Lemon], Vanille [Vanilla], Cherry, Myrtille [Blueberry], Bubble Gum and Pistache [Pistachio]. Donut is a collection embodying the concept of supersize. These design mugs shake up the codes of traditional tableware and establish themselves as objects that are both decorative and useful. Having studied Design and Craftsmanship at the École Boulle, Pia Chevalier now has her own studio in the Orfèvrerie, the former headquarters of Christofle. The designer leaves plenty of room for total spontaneity in her creative process and the composition of her pieces. Her work focuses on day-to-day objects that she sees as sculptures, capable of conjuring up emotions and creating affectionate ties. She adores giving these objects a certain formality that makes them particularly endearing. Made in Portugal and hand-enamelled, the Donut collection is part of a transition to more purposeful production. The mugs are protected by recycled cardboard, printed with water-based inks. This cup is the perfect volume for tea, coffee or other hot beverages. The atypical and foodie-focused design means that Donut can be enjoyed while grabbing a quick coffee, or admired on a desk or kitchen shelving. Its bright colours bring modernity and vibrancy to this design.
