PLACE D'ETOILE - Eric Rohmer's near farcical tale of a salesman who mistakenly believes he has killed a man in the street with his umbrella. MONTPARNASSE ET LEVALLOIS - Jean Luc Godard's segment expands upon a plot line from 'Une Femme est une Femme' about a girl who worries that she has mixed up letters written to two different lovers. LA MUETTE - Claude Chabrol ruthlessly critiques the lives of a constantly bickering burgeois couple, played by the director himself and Stephane Audran.
