Thoughtfully designed for modern living, it was inspired by a 1950s handbag found on the shelves of a Parisian vintage shop, purchased by one of our design team and envied by the rest. How could something so compact, so chic, also be so day-to-day handy and practical? It turns out that the accordion, in addition to being a French musical icon, is well-suited to bag construction. With only a few things in it, the bag lies almost flat; stuffed to the brim with the day's (or night's) necessities it accordions out as needed. A detachable shoulder strap can convert it from a shoulder bag into a vintage clutch - something that would look at home sat between a shot of espresso and a half-eaten croissant on a cafe table. On the exterior, luxurious leather is embossed with an on-trend croc pattern that creates a beautiful two-tone effect in a key shade for the winter. The finishing touch is a sleek gold-toned turnlock, inspired by a clasp design found in the John Lewis Design Archives.
