Description
Tizio micro desk lamp – a variation of a design icon The Tizio micro, with its moving arm and head balanced by counterweights, is part of a series designed by Richard Sapper, which was released in 1972 and is now considered a design classic. Sapper (1932-2015) is considered one of the most important industrial designers of his time, and also passed his knowledge on as a university lecturer. The designer, who lived for a long time in Milan, received numerous awards for his work, such as for example the Compasso d´Oro, which he won a total of 11 times. His objects are shown in museums all over the world. The Tizio desk lamp was designed by Sapper on behalf of the Italian light manufacturer Artemide. Tizio micro is characterised by its flexible mobility and its uncluttered aesthetic, which works well in interiors designed in a modern style. This version has a socket for low-voltage halogen lamps (G4) and a transformer built into the base.
