WTB Byway TCS Fast Tyre (SG2)Ready for exploring the countryside back roads, this gravel bike tyre features a smooth centreline for superior efficiency with diamond-shaped outer knobs that grip into the dirt. Its high volume capacity also allows for a comfortable ride when the smooth tarmac comes to an end and the mixed terrain begins. A swiftly smooth centreline is paired to a textured intermediate section that provides a seamless transition onto small outer knobs for unwavering traction in loose dirt and gravel. Prominent outer knobs also extend down the sidewall to provide an additional level of defence from roadside unpleasantries of all shapes and sizes. Byway 34 is an identical replacement to the previously named Exposure 34 tyre. WTB renamed the tyre to create a uniform naming structure where all tyres are named according to tread pattern.SG2 Puncture ProtectionThese tyres are available with WTB's SG2 Puncture Protection, which is a lightweight nylon insert that provides bead-to-bead coverage and ensures every area of the tyre is defended against slashes and punctures. The centerline tread features a firmer rubber compound that rolls fast and resists tread wear while the side knobs are composed of softer, slower-rebounding rubber to improve control and grip. All Dual DNA tyres fall within the Fast Rolling category. SG2 Puncture Protection: Nylon fibres have a flat profile, which reduces the amount of rubber needed to fill the gaps between fibres and minimises weight. SG2 was specifically designed to be a puncture protection layer, but it also improves air retention and eliminates seeping at the sidewall. Tyre Pressure Information: WTB's tyre pressure recommendations have changed over time due to further developments in technology. Riders may always reference the markings on their tyres for allowed pressures ranges, but WTB calculate pressure recommendations based on an average rider weight of 160-180 lbs and suggest increasing the minimum recommended pressure by 2-3psi for every additional 10 lbs of rider weight.
