Willow Tree is an intimate line of sculpture that speaks in quiet ways to heal, comfort, protect and inspire. Artist Susan Lordi hand carves each original Willow Tree piece. This piece is cast from her original and hand painted. The figurine features a woman holding her little child. The subtle implication of different hair and skin colour is that the mother and child are not related by blood. The reference to adoption does not prevent this piece from being meaningful for any parent and child. The sentiment for the piece is actually a love poem to a child.
