Description
The Whyte 801 hardtail offers a fine blend of fun on the trail control on the burms and speed on the singletrack. Our Single Chain Ring design, with no need for an inner chainring clearance, means our engineers were able to re-shape our custom chainstays for improved agility and a more dynamic ride while the stiff and responsive 6061 aluminium frame fills you with confidence to tackle the trails and descents with new found aggression. The 800 Series frame uses the very latest Whyte trail geometry, based around a longer top tube, sitting you firmly in control, a short stem and wide 780mm bar meaning fast handling isnt compromised. The 801 also features a 120mm travel fork, for trail-bike levels of performance. This latest generation frame bristles with UK design features such as the Get A Grip seat post clamp system. This allows quick adjustment, fantastic weather proofing and a nice ergonomic lever which is easy to operate however cold your hands might be. Whyte 801 2020 Features Light and responsive 6061 Alloy, Hydro Formed T6 Aluminium, Multi Butted, SCR, Tapered Headtube, 'Get A Grip' Seat Clamp System and Internal Cable Routing. The ones that make up Whyte’s unique geometry and ride character. Whether it’s our Alp taming, EWS thoroughbred G170 series bikes, our entry level 600 series trail hardtails or our mould-breaking, award-winning Wessex road bikes every Whyte is designed to create a unique chemistry with its rider to let you go faster, further and more comfortably in total confidence. That’s because we push the front wheel further in front of the rider at a slacker angle to the frame. This helps the steering ‘self correct’, keeping you on track whether you’re ripping down a rowdy mountain trail or a back road short cut turns out shady. By adding a long reach top tube we can team the stable steering with a super short, snap reacting stem for dodging traffic and potholes on the way to work or surfing sliding tyres down a black run descent. Add our own carefully selected handlebar shapes and you’ve got the perfect balance of confident communication and connection in your hands.
