Description
A beautiful Chinese medicine or drinks cabinet dating to the early 20th century. Made of pine & mixed woods the cabinet is painted gold & richly hand decorated with raised Oriental scenes of figures, birds of paradise & buildings. There is a signature to the bottom of the left hand door. The top section opens to reveal shallow cut away shelves & the lower cupboard has a single fixed shelf. The cabinet has ornate hinges & the top section is lockable. The whole thing stands on a shallow removable base plinth. CONDITION The cabinet is in very good structural condition. There are various marks & signs of age to the painted finish & it appears that one shallow shelf has been removed in the top section. There are ring marks to the cupboard interiors & the lower cupboard is missing its key. It has a well aged look. MEASUREMENTS height - 182.5cms width - 79.5cms at the base depth- 37.5cms at the base, 25cms at the top top shelves measure 6.5cms deep The measurements are taken at the widest points.
