Peony Trail is based on an Aesthetic-style textile design held in the V&A collection by British designer, L.P. Butterfield, one of the most successful freelance designers who worked in the Arts and Crafts style. Butterfield's depiction of bold peony blossoms and pretty prunus has been influenced by Japonism, a popular style for Edwardian furnishings. The original design has been reimagined and recoloured in a signature palette of dusky mauve tones set against a midnight black ground. The range includes duvet cover sets, standard pillowcase pairs, a quilted throw and curtains and is accessorised with a linen-blend cushion decorated with an elegant paisley pattern.
