Jack (George Clooney) is on his own, an American in Italy and vows that his next job will be his last. That isn’t going to be an easy job for Jack; he’s used to working hard and getting the job done.While hiding out he befriends a local priest, Father Benedetto (Paolo Bonacelli), something he had never done before and also engages in a relationship with a local woman, Clara (Violante Placido). While Jack is taking some time off he is also on the verge of a new job; building a weapon for a mysterious woman named Mathilde (Thekla Reuten). Jack has broken rules, and making friends while on the job is about to put him in more danger than ever before.
