Taking the inspiration from momento mori, famed tattoo artist Adrian Willard was commisioned to design this skull.The skull is based on the Mexican Day of the Dead festival, where the focus is on remembering lost friends and family. Gifts of sugar skulls are given to both the living and the dead, and is a reminder that life is brief, and while remembering the dead, to live life to the full.The vivid skull design houses the time display, where the lower jaw is the minutes, and the two front teeth show the hours with a jumping hour mechanism that flips to display the current hour perfectly on the hour. This is housed in a simple but hard wearing black PVD plated steel case, with black leather strap and striking turquoise stitching. The movement inside is a automatic mechanical movement, powered by the movement of the wearer, linking neatly to the watch centring on being alive.
