Description
Marimekko Dessert plate Multicoloured Ceramic. Dimensions: Ø 20 cm. Maija Isola's iconic Unikko flower pattern is an emblem of the Marimekko design house. It was designed in 1964, just after the founder of the Marimekko brand, Armi Ratia, publicly announced that she was banning floral patterns, which were considered hackneyed. Maija Isola defied her by drawing a series of floral designs whose style was so innovative and fresh that Armi changed her mind. Ironically, the Unikko pattern has become an emblem of the brand. Cheerful, chic and graphic, the tableware collection by Marimekko brings your interior to life! The simple shapes showcase the collection’s stunning designs. You can compose a coordinated service yourself, or mismatch cups, plates and bowls to create your own style! Made to last, Marimekko cups, mugs and plates are made of ceramic stoneware and their patterns have been designed not to fade over time. Compatible with the demands of modern life, all the items in the collection are suitable for microwave, dishwasher and freezer. Created in 1951, Marimekko is a state of mind, a way of life based on creativity, freedom of spirit and inventiveness. Its notoriety dates back to 1960, the year in which Jackie Kennedy made several public appearances in dresses designed by Marimekko. The brand went on to enjoy enormous success, which continues today with a range of clothing and decorative accessories in vibrant colours, for a house full of inspiration!
