Description
Science Museum A delightfully intriguing jigsaw reproducing ‘Waterloo Station: Under the Clock’, 1967. Painted by renowned artist Terence Cuneo (1907–96), who had been the official artist for the Coronation in 1953, the original work measured over 6 x 3m. The image captures the concourse of Waterloo Station in London as seen from the first floor British Rail Southern Region Board Room. Packed with engaging detail, from steam and diesel locomotives, to cars, porters and the hustle and bustle of the travelling public; the painting also, notably, includes Prime Minister Harold Wilson being growled at by a bulldog.
