The willow used to produce this basket is coppiced from fast-growing regenerating crops that are cultivated solely for this purpose, sustaining traditional farming methods without the use of chemical application. Made on a Fair Trade basis, made by hand in villages where the working conditions are safe and hygienic, where the artisan crafters are paid at least or more than the national average wage, and their working hours are not excessive, and their employment is freely chosen. The baskets are hand woven by local villagers who weave the baskets and then they are taken to be fitted or lined.
