Trek Fuel EX 9.8 XT Mountain Bike 2021 Trail-ready and capable of tackling almost anything, Trek’s Fuel EX 9.8 XT Mountain Bike can take on the ups, the downs, and everything in between. The OCLV Mountain Carbon frame has 130mm of travel from its FOX Performance Float EVOL shock, complemented by the FOX Performance 36 Float EVOL upfront, providing a plush, ground-hugging chassis for speed and control. Further stability can be added by using the Mino Link to lower the bottom bracket and slacken the head angle by 1/2° or it can be set in the upper position for quicker handling. The tried-and-tested combination of SLX hydraulic disc brakes and XT gears is both confidence-inspiring and reliable, with quick shifts and strong braking on tap. A Bontrager Line Elite Dropper seatpost allows the saddle to be quickly lowered or raised as required for steep descents or climbing. The carbon rimmed Line Elite 30 wheelset is tubeless-ready along with the XR4 Team Issue tyres so conversion is straightforward, and wheel size is frame size specific with the larger bikes using 29” and the smaller options 27.5” to keep the handling consistent.
