Smaller than others of its kind, it is ideal for smaller gardens where space is limited. Awarded an RHS plants for pollinators status, Thompson & Morgan Weigela ‘Pink Poppet’ is perfect for encouraging bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects into your garden. Choose a sunny or semi-shaded position when growing Thompson & Morgan Weigela ‘Pink Poppet’ and plant in any well-drained soil, incorporating plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting. Plant Weigela at the same depth as they were in their pots, backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil. Water regularly throughout the growing season until fully established. Apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant in spring. Cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level after flowering. Other than that, Thompson & Morgan Weigela ‘Pink Poppet’ requires little pruning.
