Description
Spiraea ‘Arguta’ is a cottage-garden classic, with arching branches which makes it ideal for informal gardens or relaxed styles. This RHS AGM variety is prized for its resilience, ease of growing and long display of prolific flowers which light up the garden in spring. The frothy appearance of this variety is a magical sight in beds and borders. From April to May, each branch is smothered in arching sprays of bee-friendly white flowers, which give way in summer to a dense shrub of green foliage to extend the season of interest. This low-maintenance shrub is a popular choice for filling gaps in borders with long seasonal interest, and can also be close-planted in rows to form a showy hedge.Grow Spiraea in a sunny position, in any fertile, moist, well-drained soil. For best performance, prune flowered shoots of Spiraea plants immediately after flowering.
