Description
An exciting variety of Hydrangea macrophylla from the innovative Royalty Collection, the mophead blooms of 'Lady Mata Hari Duo' are made up of clusters of multi-tonal flowers to create a kaleidoscope effect. Each individual bloom blends from mauve-blue to creamy-white and apple-green, so no two flowers are ever the same! Ideal as a patio shrub or planted in lightly shaded borders, this compact deciduous shrub makes a showy patio plant that gives a mesmerising display all summer. Each autumn the foliage turns to red and gold and the faded flower heads extend the season of interest well into winter. As with many varieties, these cultivars produce slightly different colour tones depending on the soil pH.Hydrangea macrophylla prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any rich fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Alternatively plant hydrangea macrophylla in patio containers in soil-based compost such as John Innes No. 3. The blue flowers will take on a pink hue as they fade through autumn and may also be affected by alkaline tap water or soil. For the deepest blue flowers right through the season we recommend the use of Hydrangea Colourant.Product specifications:Position: Sun or Semi-ShadeHeight & Spread: Up to 120cm when fully establishedFlowering period: July to SeptemberImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
