Description
A very popular and versatile variety, the Lombardy Poplar is well known to be used by farmers as a windbreak, often seen in neat rows towering above the rest. They are also extremely popular with wildlife, providing a great home to nesting birds and many insects. The leaves will turn to a stunning variety of yellow shades before falling, and are distinctly triangular in shape.Prior to planting Poplar, incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant at the same soil level as they were growing at the nursery, and water well to settle the soil.Water young plants during particularly dry periods until fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the hedge. This will help to retain moisture throughout the summer.Product Specifications: Hardy, easy to grow, Planting distance 45cm (3 plants per metre for a single line hedge)Position: Full sunHeight: Up to 12m when fully establishedSpread: Up to 8m when fully establishedDelivered with growing and care instructionsImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
