To grow Hamamelis Intermedia Arnold Promise, plant it in borders with non-alkaline, rich fertile, well-drained soil. Choose a position in full sun or semi-shade, and prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the soil to improve its structure and fertility. Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants become established. Prune hamamelis in spring, immediately after flowering, removing any damaged or diseased stems and lightly shaping the plant. After pruning, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the shrub to promote healthy growth and flowering.
