Garlic Spring Lovers Collection is made up of three varieties, each providing brilliant health benefits, lowing blood pressure, fat and cholesterol levels and combating infections. Perfect for growing in the kitchen garden. All of the varieties are easy to grow, plant the garlic cloves in January and they will be ready to lift and dry in flowing July.This Collection Contains:Cledor – This variety is a soft neck and improvement on an old French variety Rose du Var that was originally from the south of France. This variety produces round white bulbs with strong skin and a great flavour.Flavor – This variety is a French grown hard neck that is an Italian pink type produced in France this variety matures in late July. Producing white skinned bulbs and each contain 9-16 pink cloves that will store for a long time once opened.Picardy Wight – this variety is a soft neck that has been adapted to the cooler and wetter conditions this variety will grow anywhere in the UK that has proved a challenge. In its native region it is plaited and smoked due to its longevity.Plant garlic in rows in any well drained soil in full sun. It is important that the soil does not become waterlogged so incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve drainage and feed the soil. On particularly heavy soils, grow garlic in raised beds. Carefully split the bulb into individual cloves.
