Description
Foxglove ‘Silver Cub’ is a hardy biennial that is popular for its elegant flower spikes which can grow up to 60cm tall making it ideal for the back of a shady garden border. This variety produces white blooms with speckled centres from May onwards. Ideal for cottage / wildlife / woodland and cut flower gardens – attractive to pollinating insects.Sow Foxglove seeds from January to May on the surface of good seed compost, and cover with a light sprinkling of compost of vermiculite. Place in a propagator at a temperature of 18-25C (64-77F) or seal the seed tray inside a polythene bag until after germination, which usually takes 14-30 days. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged and do not exclude light, as this helps germination. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 7.5cm (3") pots and grow on in cooler conditions. When Digitalis plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting outdoors. Alternatively, over winter Foxglove plants in a cold frame and plant out the following spring after all risk of frost has passed. Plant Foxgloves at a distance of 45cm (18") apart in sun or dappled shade in any well drained soil.Product Specifications: 1 x packet (75 foxglove seeds)Position: Dappled Shade or Sun or Semi ShadeHeight: Up to 60cm (23.6in) when fully establishedSpread: Up to 45cm (17.7in) when fully establishedSupplied as Flower Seed - Flower Seed - Foxglove ‘Silver Cub’ – Hardy Biennial 1 x Packet (75 seeds) by Thompson and MorganImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
