Forsythia ‘Lynwood’ produces golden yellow star-shaped flowers in the spring to bright up your garden on those dull, grey days. The flowers appear before the light green foliage. A reliable deciduous hardy shrub easy to grow and ideal for hedges, garden walls and fences. Height and spread: 3m (10’).Grow Forsythia plants in moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi-shade.Feed and water Forsythia plants regularly until fully established. Container grown plants will require annual dressing with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser and regular watering throughout the summer months. Border grown plants will require less attention. In late spring after flowering has finished, prune Forsythia by cutting back all flowered shoots to a healthy pair of leaves. On established Forsythia plants, cut back up to a fifth of the oldest shoots to their base, to encourage healthy new growth and improve flowering.
